About Me
Since forming The-First-Dance in 2006 I have successfully taught and choreographed wedding dances for over 200 couples. I also teach several regular clients learning just for fun by private tuition.
Amongst my clients are Allianz Insurance for whom I taught a 12 week Latin and Ballroom course at the beginning of 2009 and we are planning another for 2010. Sutton Tennis Club recently booked and enjoyed a Salsa evening with me and they are now looking to hold a monthly dance session.
During 2008 and 2009 I choreographed the fashion shows for ‘From This Moment Bridal Studios’ (located in Ewell, Surrey) held at the ‘Celebrated Affairs’ wedding exhibition at the Epsom Grandstand.
And my teaching has recently been filmed by ITV London for Living TV’s programme Four Weddings which is due to be screened in February 2010.
I don’t claim to be a World Champion dancer. I am a social dancer. And that is what I will teach you to be in a fun and informal atmosphere using popular music.
I can teach you from complete beginner up to an Intermediate standard (including the Bronze and Silver Ballroom & Latin syllabus). To enhance your learning experience I cover all aspects of how to dance including footwork and partnering techniques, how to recognise different types of music, etiquette and how to navigate a busy dance floor – all essential for successful, confident dancing!
For me, the most important aspect of dancing is about having fun, and a few basic, stylish steps danced well can look just as good as anything on Strictly Come Dancing.
Dance is an in-expensive, effective and low-impact exercise and a fantastic way to socialise (and of course to add an extra highlight to your wedding day)!
In fact, I met my husband through dance classes … our first dance was to Shania Twain’s Forever and Always. |
